STUDENTS ENJOY FREE AFTER-SCHOOL WORKSHOPS
at the Catskill Community Center
LUMBERYARD Young Performers is a series of free weekly after-school workshops in
the performing arts, in collaboration with the Catskill Community Center. Greene County School District students in grades 4-10 will learn about various types of performance with Melanie George, LUMBERYARD’s audience educator and dramaturg, and other celebrated professional performing artists.
With the significant cuts to funding in 2008, Catskill offers few opportunities for students to bene t from free training or exposure to the arts of any kind. LUMBERYARD is helping to ll that void in Greene County.
LUMBERYARD Young Performers will learn about a new form of performing arts every Monday afternoon throughout the school year. The nal weeks of the program will focus on the creation of new work and LUMBERYARD Young Performers will culminate in a performance at the Catskill Community Center in June 2018.
Classes meet every Monday, except school holidays. Students do not need to attend every session to be a part of LUMBERYARD Young Performers.
No experience is required.
