Catskill, N.Y. approves transformation of local site

Catskill, N.Y.’s Planning Board has unanimously approved our plans to build a first-of-its kind performing art facility in the heart of town.

Following the presentation last night of our architectural drawings and a video highlighting our recent work, Planning Board members and local residents asked questions of Executive Director, Adrienne Willis, and other LUMBERYARD staff.

Conversation quickly turned to excitement about various opportunities for collaboration between local businesses and LUMBERYARD — particularly through summer months when we’ll be featuring performances almost every weekend.

The former Dunn Builders Supply building will soon be transformed into a space where we’ll be able to expand our Incubator program.

Beginning in 2018, artists and their collaborators will be able to stay on site for a week or more, refining and showing their works before their public premieres.

We’re confident that Catskill, N.Y.’s beauty and the kindness of its residents will be as obvious to the greater LUMBERYARD community as it has been to those of us already working here.

A celebration at New York Restaurant on Catskill, N.Y.’s Main Street, followed Thursday evening’s meeting.

Thank you Catskill, N.Y. for welcoming us!
